Kuigi ametliku statistika järgi suri Eestis viimase 13 aasta jooksul meditsiinilise vea tagajärjel 151 inimest, võib Euroopa statistikale tuginedes nentida, et meditsiinivead tapavad aastas 1500 inimest.

Nii väidab Pärnu haigla kvaliteedijuht ja Eesti mitme tervishoiupoliitikadokumendi kaasautor Teele Orgse oma magistritöös, mida ta Tartu Ülikoolis mullu sügisel kaitses.
Ülikooli kodulehel kõigile kättesaadavas magistritöös on kirjas ka teine, samuti Euroopa statistikale tuginev ehmatav arv: igal aastal saab ravivigu omal nahal tunda 12 000 inimest.
Mida arvavad neist numbritest arstid ise?
"Mul tekkis uskumatult jube tunne. Enda meelest tegelen ma inimeste aitamisega, kasutades tõenduspõhiseid ravijuhiseid. Kuidas siis nüüd uuring näitab, et meie tegevuse tõttu inimesed Eestis surevad ja et meie tegevus on surmapõhjustest lausa kolmandal kohal?!" on perearstide seltsi juhatuse liige, Järveotsa perearstikeskuse perearst Diana Ingerainen nõutu.

Tema sõnul on varasemate aastate statistika kohaselt valediagnooside arv püsinud 9% piires. "See on kõikjal nii. Eesti ei ole teistest riikidest erinev. Ka on teada, et arstlik viga on tervishoiu lahutamatu osa, aga mitte üle 1–2% tegevusest. Kõlab nukralt, kuid vigadest õpitakse," lasub Ingerainen, rõhutades, et ka arst on inimene, ja nende vead ei ole tahtlikud.

Iga kümnes diagnoos on vale?

"Need arvud on ekstrapolatsioon teiste riikide andmetest, välja rebitud kontekstist s. t. magistritöö hüpoteesist ega oma Eesti olukorraga reaalset seost," väidab Eesti Arstide Liidu president Andrus Mäesalu.
"Valeravi juhtumeid tervishoiusüsteemis ei ole palju. Seda väites tugineme sotsiaalministeeriumi tervishoiuteenuste kvaliteedi ekspertkomisjoni ja terviseameti järelevalveosakonna statistikale," ütleb terviseameti avalike suhete juht Iiris Saluri.
Vastupidi arvab aga patsientide esindusühingu juhataja Pille Ilves. "Need arvud võivad paika pidada. Kuna vigade tuvastamise ja analüüsimisega Eestis erinevalt lääneriikidest sisuliselt ei tegelda, tekitab see teatud vastutustundetuse ja karistamatuse tunde. See omakorda võib vigade arvu suurendada, võrreldes nende riikidega, kus vigu tuvastatakse, analüüsitakse ning püütakse tulevikus vältida. Eestis on levinud vigade peitmine."
Ilvese karme sõnu näib kinnitavat tõsiasi, et patsiendiohutus ei ole Eesti meditsiini alusdokumentides olulisena ning tervishoiu põhieesmärgina sõnastatud. "Räägitud on vähe seetõttu, et arstkond on mõjukas ja haritud ühiskonnagrupp ning see on neile ebameeldiv teema. Arstkond ise ei soovi oma vigades sorimist ning kõik olulised tervishoiukorraldust puudutavad otsused teevad just nemad," süüdistab Ilves.

Kogu süsteem ei toimi?

"Patsiendiohutus hõlmab praktiliselt kõiki tervishoiuteenuse osutamise aspekte ning neid on arvestatud erinevate juhiste väljatöötamisel. Ka on igas haiglas olemas kvaliteediteenistus, mis tegeleb peaasjalikult patsiendi ohutusega," vaidleb Ilvesele vastu Saluri.

Ilvese sõnul pöördub aastas patsientide esindusühingu poole ligi 60 inimest, kes arvavad, et tegemist on olnud ravimisel tekkinud veaga. "Ei ole olemas head süsteemi, mis annaks patsiendile võimaluse oma õigusi tagada. Seni kui kaebustega patsientidele seatakse tõkkeid, neid naeruvääristatakse puuduvate tõendite pärast ja pannakse kõik ebastabiilse psühholoogia arvele, ei lähe midagi paremaks," on ta kindel.
"Meil on terviseamet, mis tervishoiuteenuse sisulist kvaliteeti kontrollima ei kipu. Haigekassa uurib kulutõhusust, teenuste kvaliteet on tähelepanuta. Sotsiaalministeeriumi juures asuvalt Tervishoiuteenuste Kvaliteedi Ekspertkomisjonilt ei saa vigadega operatiivset tegelemist nõudagi, sest tervishoidu planeerivatel, korraldavatel, kontrollivatel ja rahastavatel asutustel on piinlik, kui nende haldusala mustad plekid nähtavale tuuakse."
Mäesalu aga kinnitab, et Eesti tervishoiusüsteem on usaldusväärne ja piisavalt ohutu. "Arstikunsti esmane ülesanne on mitte kahjustada, ja seda ka järgitakse," lausub ta.
Kas siis ongi mõtet sellest kõigest rääkida, kui 90% inimestest saab abi? Aga ülejäänud 10% ju ei saa! "Ilmselt paljud meist ei lendaks lennukiga, kui tõenäosus lennuõnnetusse sattuda oleks igal kümnendal," ütleb Orgse oma töös sellele küsimusele vastates.

1. N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) is the most powerful short term quencher of ionizing radiation. It is a nutrient, a simple amino acid from protein. For adults (weighing above 150lbs) , it may be taken in dosages of 500mg to 600mg daily for protection from toxic metals and other poisons. For younger adults weighing 100lbs to 149lbs, 400mg to 500mg daily affords adequate protection in most situations. In children weighing less than 100lbs, but above 50lbs, 200mg daily is a suitable dose. For infants, toddlers or children weighing less than 50lbs, 50mg to 100mg daily may be used in juice, as long as no sensitivity to NAC arises (i.e., light skin rashes). In this manner, NAC may be used daily on an indefinite basis, as it is a harmless amino acid our bodies will use to establish antioxidant defenses and aid the immune system. It is also an adequate remover (i.e., chelator - from the Greek which means that which "grabs onto or claws into") of toxic metals from the body, such as radioactive cobalt and directly and indirectly uranium.^{44, 45, 46} Uranium is quite stubborn about exiting without a fight and could require baking soda to speed things up - see references at very end of page - plus melatonin.²³ Liver protection from fall-out radioisotopes like uranium, plutonium, etc... is nicely accomplished via combining NAC + Sea Vegetables (see next) + Melatonin + Selenium + small amounts of baking soda (see number 7 below for all advisories). Lastly - rarely some adults are sensitive to NAC, so be aware of special advisories regarding its long term use. In those cases, use high-quality Whey products.^{6, 7}

2. Iodide is also a first line of defense mineral supplement, since it can out-compete radioactive iodide from entering into our bodies.¹¹ Kelp and other seaweeds are also excellent chelators of toxic metals from the body, especially if high fiber intake is also being incorporated into the diet.^{9, 10, 83, 84}

Despite misinformation to the contrary, if you have no known allergy to shellfish or iodide, rationale supplementation with iodide can be a good thing. For average size adult women, daily Thyroid needs amount to 50mcg alone, while breast tissues, ovaries and other tissues collectively require up to 3000mcg daily. For men, their intake should be at least 1,000mcg daily, unless they are sensitive to the mineral.^{74, 75, 76} Eclectic physicians may use up to ten times or more of the female dose to treat chronic fatigue and advanced Fibromyalgia with great success,⁷⁷ as well as to detoxify out of the system the toxic halides bromide, chloride and fluoride.⁷⁸

For example, individual tablets of Kelp, Irish Moss or Dulse typically contain on average 200mcg of iodine. So, 5 tablets taken at once may equal 1,000mcg of iodine. If 5 tablets are taken at each meal, then the daily dose of iodine from these sources alone would approach 3,000mcg daily. However as referenced above, building up slowly to this level is essential, as iodine tends to rinse out toxic body burdens of toxic fluoride, bromide and chlorine if present. Therefore, when high levels of iodine are taken too quickly without building up to optimal levels, these toxic elements may exit en mass too quickly causing skin rashes, minor hair loss, or very rarely even asthmatic reactions. Eclectic physicians will neutralize this sensitivity with up to 3,000mg daily of Vitamin C.⁷⁹ But by simply discontinuing the supplement for several days, skin or hair issues should quickly clear up on their own. But if you do experience anything more dramatic, check in with your doctor right away. So always increase slowly and according to tolerance to avoid getting into this kind of situation to begin with. Remember, iodine is an essential nutrient our bodies must have every day to make adequate levels of essential hormones.

If sensitivities to iodine do surface, and then clear after discontinuing, and you want to resume taking iodine supplements, check in with your doctor and see if he or she will allow you to begin taking 3,000mg of Vitamin C daily, and then give you the go-ahead to start with very small iodine of iodine daily (1/4 tablet daily). Slowly work up to a maximum of 1 tablet daily, and report to your doctor if your tolerance to iodine at this level of intake is secure. Gradually over time, most folks can up their dosage in this manner, although more slowly than other people. Several months down the road, one initially sensitive may find themselves able to take 400mcg to 1,000mcg daily if patience rules the process. In the rare event any intake of iodide causes resumption of symptoms, including minor hair loss, substitute Chlorella or Spirulina below.

3. Chlorella (and other blue green algae) is a superior protector and chelator of radioactive metals from the body and contains no less than 20 superior neutralizers to radioactive poisons. 5 per meal (250mg each or 1250mg per meal) is a great dose for adults, 3 per meal for young adults and children, and 1 per meal for the very young. Make sure the Chlorella brand you buy has the outer cell wall "cracked" for best absorption. More may be taken, but it is suggested to never exceed 40 tablets daily for adults. Spirulina is a very acceptable cheaper alternative, although the taste is more objectionable for children.^{3, 4, 29}

4. High quality bone meal (rich in Calcium & Strontium Hydroxyapatite) will also protect against radioactive strontium poisoning and penetration of uranium into bone. 3 per meal as labeled is suggested for adults, young adults and children, and 1-2 per meal for the very young.¹²

5. Natural Vitamin E Complex - To stop cell membrane destruction. 800iu per day is an excellent dose for average adults, and 400iu per day for young adults and children. Toddlers and infants may be given 100iu per day in juice. (Side Note: Krill Oil, CoQ10(H) and Melatonin are more powerful than Vit. E, but also more expensive. See below...)

6. Consuming High fiber and seaweed dishes on a regular basis must be used to maximize the best effects of the above tools. These will help insure removal (chelation) of toxic radioactive metals from the body.

7. Baking soda - Should be taken only on rare occasions, that is, only if exposures to uranium or plutonium can be confirmed, even in trace amounts, for your area. Baking soda is an efficient means to remove these metals quickly (especially uranium). There are several medical conditions which contradict taking baking soda, so be sure you have doctor's clearance before consuming baking soda. Taking baking soda once weekly should pose no health threat if no other medical conditions are present which require restriction of sodium intake. For adults with no medical contraindications, and who have good reason to believe they have been exposed to traces of radioactive fall-out, especially uranium, taking 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 cup water or juice up to seven (7) times daily on an empty stomach - on one day out of every seven days - may be warranted. If you have a day of fasting each week, or one of light eating, this would be the perfect day to perform this procedure; but again, only if it has been confirmed you were likely exposed to extremely low levels of the radioactive heavy metals such as uranium. (NaturalNews) Earlier this month (March 2011), Japanese authorities ordered doctors to stop using pneumococcal and Hib vaccines because four children died after receiving the shots. However, the real news was never reported: more than 2,000 babies died in the United States after receiving vaccines for these very same diseases, yet authorities refuse to warn parents and halt production. A safety review is vital to determine whether a recall of the dangerous shots may be necessary to protect additional American babies from disability and death.

According to Paul Offit, media spokesperson for the vaccine industry, "the Japanese Ministry of Health was foolish to suspend the Hib and pneumococcal programs." Offit thinks the deaths were probably caused by SIDS, or underlying conditions, or another cause - anything except the vaccines. Often, children get sick and die by chance.

William Schaffner, chairman of the department of medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, believes, like Offit, that the deaths are "most likely...a coincidence." In a twist of irony, it may also be a coincidence that Schaffner receives money from vaccine manufacturers - whose stock prices traded lower after the announcement by Japan - for consulting and speaking about vaccines. Offit and Schaffner have never seen the dead children, nor have autopsies been conducted, so their assessments regarding the true cause of death are not based on science.

According to Shelly Burgess, an FDA spokesperson, the FDA and CDC "have not detected new safety concerns or unusual reporting patterns." That's odd, because the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), jointly operated by the FDA and CDC, has received more than 59,000 reports of adverse reactions to pneumococcal and Hib vaccines during the past several years. More than half of these cases - 30,094 - required hospitalization, with 2,169 deaths. About 95 percent of these deaths were in children under three years of age.

In the last five years, from 2006 through 2010, 17,595 people in the U.S. reported adverse reactions to pneumococcal and Hib vaccines; 464 of these people died after receiving their shots. It should also be noted that these numbers only represent "official" reports to VAERS. The former head of the FDA, David Kessler, has estimated that for every official report of an adverse drug reaction, about 100 other people are also hurt but fail to make a report.

In Japan, most vaccines are not required, so the mad, coercive tactics used by American vaccine officials to vaccinate all U.S. children and adults is not universal. In fact, Japanese infants are only expected to receive polio and DTaP vaccines. Pneumococcal and Hib vaccines were recently added to the Japanese schedule but are optional. Compare that to the more crowded, dangerous, and lucrative U.S. infant vaccine schedule: babies are expected to receive several doses of polio, DTaP, hepatitis B, pneumococcal, Hib, rotavirus, and influenza vaccines.

In summary, four Japanese children died after receiving vaccines and the Japanese Ministry of Health immediately halted the vaccine program. U.S. health officials declared this action "foolish" even though it is likely to save additional babies from harm. In the United States, thousands of people died after receiving vaccines for the very same diseases but authorities don't give a damn. U.S. vaccine authorities believe that children are expendable, a guaranteed, targeted market to be used for commercial benefit. Disability and death of U.S. citizens after receiving mandated vaccines is merely treated as the cost of doing business.

Expectations can cancel out benefit of pain drugs

(Reuters) - People who don't believe their pain medicine will work can actually reduce or even cancel out the effectiveness of the drug, and images of their brains show how they are doing it, scientists said on Wednesday.

Researchers from Britain and Germany used brain scans to map how a person's feelings and past experiences can influence the effectiveness of medicines, and found that a powerful painkilling drug with a true biological effect can appear not to be working if a patient has been primed to expect it to fail.
By contrast, positive expectations about the treatment doubled the natural physiological or biochemical effect of an opioid drug among 22 healthy volunteers in the study.
The study of the placebo effect -- and its opposite the nocebo effect -- suggests that neural activity in certain brain areas could be monitored as a way to objectively gauge how well a drug is working for each patient, the researchers said.
"The brain imaging is telling us that patients really are switching on and off parts of their brains through the mechanisms of expectation -- positive and negative," said Irene Tracy of Britain's Oxford University, who led the research.
"(The effect of expectations) is powerful enough to give real added benefits of the drug, and unfortunately it is also very capable of overriding the true analgesic effect."
The placebo effect is the real benefit seen when patients are given dummy treatments but believe they will do them good. The nocebo effect is the opposite, when patients get real negative effects when they have doubts about a treatment.
For their study, the scientists used the drug remifentanil, a potent ultra short-acting synthetic opioid painkiller which is marketed by drugmakers GlaxoSmithKline and Abbott as Ultiva. The study was published in the Science Translational Medicine journal on Wednesday.
Volunteers were put in an MRI scanner and had heat applied to one leg. They were asked to rate pain on a 1 to 100 scale.
Unknown to the volunteers, the researchers started giving the drug via infusion to see what effects there would be when the volunteers had no knowledge or expectation of treatment. The average initial pain rating of 66 went down to 55.
The volunteers were then told they would now start to get the drug, although no change was actually made and they just continued receiving the opioid at the same dose. The average pain ratings dropped further to 39.
The volunteers were then told the drug had been stopped and warned that there may be an increase in pain. In reality, the drug was still being given at the same dose, but their pain intensity increased to 64 -- meaning the pain was almost as bad as it had been at the beginning, before they had had any drug.
Looking at scans, the researchers found that the brain's pain networks responded to different extents according to the varying expectations and matched the reports of pain.
Tracey said there may be lessons for the design of clinical trials, which often compare an experimental drug against a dummy pill to see if there is any effect beyond the placebo effect.
"We should control for the effect of people's expectations on the results of any clinical trial," she said. "At the very least we should make sure we minimize any negative expectations to make sure we're not masking true efficacy in a trial drug."

He isolated the first cancer gene through his work on retroviruses in 1970, and mapped the genetic structure of these viruses. Let’s say the camera is taking a picture once a week. When we later look at the movie we will see that quite soon the apple seed is changing and simple piece of wood is not. The seed is transforming itself to a plant growing out of the soil and later to a young tree. It seems like it is following certain path or trying to accomplish certain ideal state. But the piece of wood is still lying there and perhaps just decaying.

A Teaching of Survival is about staying alive. It’s about encouraging human beings to follow the ideal of human being. Life is a process which gives us the possibilities to accomplish that goal. It does it through situations which we call problems or obstacles. Each problem we face in our lives is a teacher trying to tell us something about ourselves. We just need to learn the language to understand their message.

This language is called the language of stresses and our body is the messenger. A Teaching of Survival is a study book of this language. By practicing according to this teaching you will understand the messages your body is sending to you. If you understand these messages you can make necessary adjustments and you will be able to follow the path of becoming healthy and complete.

Sündisin 6. aprillil 1950. Keskkooli lõpetasin Jõgeval. 1968-1974 õppisin TRÜ Arstiteaduskonnas. 18 aastat töötasin akušöör-günekoloogina. Alates 1991.a. Era-naistearstina. Kolm kuud hiljem käisin 15 päeva parapsühholoogia algkursust kuulamas. Sealt sai alguse tuntav pööra elus. Veel kolm kuud hiljem selgus, et näen. Ei taha kasutada sõna selgeltnägemine, see ei oleks aus. Kuna sõbrad selgeltnägijad mulle tõestasid, et näen, ei ole ma pidanud seda mingiks eriliseks võimeks. Pigem ei oska ette kujutada, mis see tavaline nägemine siis on.

Olin ametitöös arst, kelle kannatlikkust, rahulikkust ja veidrusi haigetega suhtlemisel kasutati töötamise algaastatel heas mõttes ära. Ka silmamõõtu ja ettenägelikkust läks pidevalt tarvis. Ei näinud, kuulnud ega tundnud halba, olin lihtsalt seal, kus mul oli hea. Ma ei juurelnud kunagi, kas see oli fantaasia või unistustemaailm. Kummaline oli ainult see, et ma olin oma materiaalse töö alati hästi ära teinud (mind peeti koolis targaks ja kohusetruuks, kodus sõnakuulelikuks), aga kui küsiti, kas töö on valmis, siis ma olin sageli kimbatuses. Ma võisin teada, et tegema hakkasin, lõpust polnud aimugi. Nüüd tean, et suudan nii ära olla ja negatiivse endast nii lahti lasta, et ainult fotosüüdistus tõestab minu kohaloleku.

Kasvasin ateismiusu ajal, olin õppinud, et Jumalat ei ole. Aga kui keegi Jumala üle irvitas, siis oli ta minu meelest pühaduse rüvetaja. Minul oli endal kõrval tuntav kõrgem jõud, kes toetas, julgustas, kontrollis ja koputas südametunnistusele. Ta oli nimetu. Nime ei ole ma kunagi tähtsaks pidanud, sisu on tähtis. Minu olemise määrasid tunded, teistele oskasin neid materiaalsesse maailma alati ümber panna. Olin sageli rahukohtunik ja vastutaja.

Ei ole juhuslik, et Jumal on viimase kolme aasta jooksul kinkinud mulle üha enam ravijaoskusi just nimelt tunde- ja mõttemaailma lahtirääkimise tasandil. Pean maailmas kõike tähtsaks, ometi on mõte tähtsuselt esimene. Sõna on tema väljendaja füüsilisel tasandil. Mulle on antud õigus ja võime keerulisi asju lihtsaks rääkida. Alates 1993. aastast olen võimeline suhtlema Kristuse ja pühakutega. Sealt teadvustasin juba selgelt andestuse ja armastuse õpetuse ning inimeste ravimise selle abil.

Kahjuks ja õnneks on ravitulemused ainult siis püsivad, kui inimene mõistab miks ta on haige. Selleks peab ta palju teadma. Mida tervem tahab olla, seda rohkem peab teadma.

1994. aasta alguses kirjutasin esimese kirjatüki „Armastus, andestus ja tervis“. Ilma nende väheste baasteadmisteta ma inimese ravi ei alusta. Ligi aasta jooksul on mulle antud järjest rohkem teadmisi ja seega võimalusi selgitada haigetele nende häda algpõhjusi. Nimetame neid stressideks. Kui vabastame stressid andestamise abil, kaob haigus.

Ebaõigele mõttelaadile järgneb väär tegu ja haigus on selle väljendus. Füüsiline inimene suudab mõista, kui talle seda õpetada. Vajalik on vaid tahtmine. Tahe määrab tulemuse.

Kes otsib süüdlast väljastpoolt ennast, see terveks ei saa.

Ennast muutma saab hakata kohe praegu, kunagi ei jää me hiljaks. Ometi on parem, kui me teame algpõhjust, siis on tulemus kiirem ja kergem tulema.

Kõik see kirjapandu peaks Teile teadvustama Teie haiguse päritolu nii, et seda oleks võimalik kohe ravima hakata. Leidke ainult aega loogiliselt mõelda.

Veel tahan ma rõhutada, et antud õpetus on üks paljudest võimalustest. Inimene peab ise leidma endale sobiva. Nad on kõik ühe terviku osad.

Tuletage meelde Kristust, kes tuli inimestele õpetama andestamise ja armastamise lihtsat tarkust, aga keda rahvas oma rumaluses kuulda ei võtnud. Kristlased jutlustavad tänapäevalgi, et Kristus tuli inimesi oma kannatuste läbi lunastama. Aga mis tal muud üle jäi. Rahvas ei mõistnud õpetust omaks võtta, rahvas tahtis, et tema patud olematuks tehakse. Rahvas jätkab pattude tegemist ja aina loodab, et Kristus need jälle ja jälle lunastab. Aga kas Kristuse piinad võtsid kellegi vaeva ja häda ära? Ei võtud. Ainult siiras usk andestamisse ja Jumala armastusse aitasid.

Kristus näitas eeskuju. Õpetas elama, andestus ja armastus südames. Tema ristileminek näitas vaid, kui raske on õpetaja tee. Hinge võid endast anda, aga enne kui igaüks oma risti raskust ei ole kandnud, ei hakka ta mõtlema. Elu ei saa ega tohi kerge olla.

Liialt vähe on 2000 aastat inimkonda targemaks teinud. Õnneks erandite hulk kasvab. Erandid õnnistavad Maad.
